A Lecture:
"Devil Shall Be My Sergeant
Unmasking the 19th-Century
Military History of Governors Island"
Time: 2:30 p.m. Location: Pershing Hall Governors Island Details: A public lecture by New York Caledonian Club Member Debora Duerksen, MLS to be held on Governors Island
(See Flyer)
Given the enormous contribution of those of Scottish descent to the U.S. military, I thought there might be a few who would be interested in a lecture I'm giving for the National Parks Service on the 19th century military heritage of Governors Island. The talk is free and open to the public. Ferry service to Governors Island is free on the weekends and July 26th will be New York Harbor Day, so there will be much boating activity.
