"The Maggie"
a 1954 British comedy film.
Directed by Alexander Mackendrick and written by William Rose, it is a story of a shrewd American businessman, Calvin Marshall and Mactaggart, the wily Scottish skipper of a rusty coastal 'puffer' (cargo) boat who cons the American into letting "The Maggie" carry a cargo to a Scottish island. The American soon realizes that he's been conned but can he stop Mactaggart?
