Steve O'Connor's 'Hail Caledonia' Takes Off On American Celtic Scene
London, UK. (Top40 Charts/ Aardvark Records) - The new single from UK singer songwriter Steve O'Connor has taken off in America. The acoustic pop-rock "Hail Caledonia" has been heavily promoted by the New York Caledonian Club and is on the influential American organization?s new website. It is the only music entry on the club's website. The Liverpool native penned the single as a tribute to Scotland, a land which holds special memories for him. It was in Scotland that his natural gift for song-writing began to manifest. This ancient land steeped in a music legacy all its own provided the needed inspiration; both visual and spiritual. It was here that Steve taught himself to play guitar and subsequently write his own music and lyrics.
Steve has traveled extensively in his life, which has helped him to understand and appreciate the diverse cultures and traditions of the world. With musical influences such as Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Browne, the Eagles and, of course, The Beatles. His words and melodies captivate and enchant, while his warm and genial manner, coupled with his native Liverpool wit, engage his audiences in live performance. He has learned his craft well. While Steve takes his musical influences from both sides of the Atlantic, he remains a contemporary singer-songwriter
with his own style.Entree: $15.00
